Our Commitment

Founded in 1948 by John M. Lachin, the firm has evolved through three generations of family leadership while maintaining a consistent commitment to thoughtful, reliable design. In 1988, John’s son, Michael Lachin, continued the practice under the name LDL Architects, which became Lachin Oubre & Associates in 1991. In 2026, the firm adopted its current name, Lachin Darre’ Architects, reflecting both its legacy and its present leadership, which now includes John’s grandson, David Lachin, as a partner.

While the firm provides full service commercial architectural services across a wide range of project types, its work since Hurricane Katrina has been heavily focused on educational facilities throughout southern Louisiana and Mississippi.
