David Lachin
A study in contrasts is one way to describe David. As an architect, he dedicates his career to designing, and constructing buildings that define space, but away from work he devotes as much time as possible to being outdoors. A devoted hunter and fisherman, David relishes not only the pursuit of nature’s bounties, but is also adept at preparing fish or game dinner!
David is married to Meredith and is Dad to three boys. The family lives in Mandeville in a cottage featuring the typical quirks and charms of older homes, in a small town that puts him close to his preferred woods-and-water environment.
After growing up in the Atlanta area, David entered LSU’s Architectural School in the early 2000’s. He has been with Lachin Architects since his LSU days, starting as a summer intern and joining the firm full-time upon graduation. After several years being mentored by the firm’s senior architects, David earned his license and assumed responsibility for spearheading major projects. One of his favorites thus far is the Garic Schoen Chapel at Schoen Funeral Home, a seamless addition to the historic landmark on Canal Street in New Orleans.
David became a partner in Lachin Architects apc in 2017, and now represents the third generation of Lachins leading the firm.
