Stephen Darre'
Stephen joined the firm in 2009 upon graduation from LSU, then left to work on design-build projects for over a decade before rejoining Lachin in 2021. An artist with an Etsy store, he is another one of the multi-talented people on our staff. Stephen was inspired to enter architectural school when he visited Italy during high school, and was impressed by the Renaissance-era buildings, especially the details that were incorporated.
Stephen resides in Metairie with his wife Claire, a Physician Assistant, a 4 year old daughter, and a baby son. While his home doesn’t exhibit his architectural loves, he is pretty crazy about the tropical pool house he designed for his backyard. That’s where he practices for the career he didn’t pursue: bartender in the Caribbean.
Stephen’s co-workers describe him as creative, friendly, and enthusiastic, but not organized. While the stereotypical architect keeps everything orderly, Steve thrives in organized chaos.
If Stephen could have dinner with anyone, it would be Walt Disney, to find out how a few creative ideas were transformed into an empire.
