The Villa St. Maurice renovation and replacement of apartments for the elderly, previously damaged by Hurricane Katrina, includes the renovation of a 20,000 square foot historic three-story convent building into office, recreation, and community service to serve, not only the residents, but the community as a whole. Additionally, the 62,000 square foot, 5-story adjacent apartment building will be reconstructed anew to provide 77 apartments serving the needs of the elderly within the surrounding community.
